Create an Excel Chart with One Keystroke

It only takes one keystroke to create a chart from data in Excel.

  1. Select a cell that contains the chart data or a heading.
  2. On the keyboard, press the F11 key
  3. A chart sheet is inserted, with a chart in the default chart type, as shown below.

    ALT +F1 works too.
    This way you can select a specific data range. Press ALT +F1 and the rest is as above.

    Thanks for the tip! And that’s a good point — you could also select a specific data range when using the F11 shortcut.
